HOW WE MET

“My name is Manon and I'm French. From the youngest age I always dreamed about going to the United States and visiting Los Angeles. My biggest dream was to hike to the Hollywood Sign. Andrew, my fiancé, is from Texas. 3 years ago, I landed in Oklahoma City for a year abroad at the University of Oklahoma. That's where I met Andrew. He was a fresh transfer from another University in Texas, and we were assigned to the same group in 2 classes. We started dating a couple weeks later. It's incredible to realize how life put us in the same place at the same moment, when we were from so far away. A year later, I had to go back to France, leaving him in the US. I don't think I've ever cried so much in my life. That's when we started to travel to meet each other whenever we could. Sometimes in France and sometimes in the US. And here we are 3 years later. He moved to Santa Barbara, where I was a couple weeks ago. On April 2nd, I was realizing my dream: hiking to the Hollywood Sign. He got on his knee and asked me to be his wife. I still can't even believe it's true. Now I'm back in France, waiting for the next time we can be reunited and showing my amazing ring, a sign of our love, to my friends and family.”
